Is he playing games or really wanna take it slow (guys opinions would help)?

I met my cousin's friend over the summer of last yr and we just started being bf and gf for about a week now. He is 17 and im 16 and i really like him alot and i know hes likes me 2 cuz he teases me and he admitted he likes me and whenever i see him hes always all over me and holding my hand and kissing me and ive kissed him back but theres been no (nowhere near ready 4 tht im still a virgin but idk if he is or not) The things that bothers me is a few nights ago i asked him if maybe he felt rushed into the bf/gf thing and he said yea and that it was ok and he said he just wanted 2 do things slow. Im wondering if maybe he's not into me or maybe he actually wants 2 take things slow.. he always texts me back when i text him although he does not lik texting he likes talkin on the phone more, he does call sometimes and even texts me too but we havent talked in 2 days since he said i want to take things slow.. also after he said he wanted 2 take things slow i replied with ok we can go as slow as u want and ill give you your space and he said ok boo. I guess im jus confused cuz i wanna know does he sound lik he still likes me? am i doing the right thing by giving him space? should i text him or wait 4 him 2 text me since technically the in his court? Would it make me seem needy if i text him? Do u think hes glad im giving him space? How long do u think itll be be4 he talks 2 me agin i really miss him but hate how he makes my feelings all crazy.
